Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HagaGraphy ("HagaGraphy", "we", "us" or "our") processes personal data in connection with www.hagagraphy.com (the "Website").

The Website is currently operated as a photography portfolio. An online shop may be introduced in the future, but no online shop, checkout or purchasing functionality is currently available.

This Privacy Policy is primarily based on Swiss data protection law, including the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO/DSV).

Where applicable, other data protection laws may also apply to visitors located outside Switzerland.

1. Controller

The person responsible for processing personal data through this Website is:

HagaGraphy
Sven Rechsteiner
Johannes Hirt Strasse 3
Switzerland
Email: contact@hagagraphy.com
Website: https://www.hagagraphy.com

For Swiss data protection purposes, the controller is the person or organisation that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data.

2. What personal data we process

The personal data processed through the Website depends on how you use it.

This may include:

Information you provide to us

If you contact us through the Website or by email, we may process:

  • Your name;

  • Your email address;

  • Your contact details;

  • The content of your enquiry; and

  • Any other information you voluntarily provide.

Technical information

When you visit the Website, technical information may be processed in connection with operating, securing and delivering the Website.

Depending on the technical services and features in use, this may include:

  • IP address;

  • Date and time of access;

  • Browser and device information;

  • Operating system;

  • Referring website;

  • Pages or content accessed;

  • Technical identifiers; and

  • Other information required for the secure and reliable operation of the Website.

The precise information processed may depend on your device, browser, Squarespace configuration and the services enabled on the Website.

3. Purpose of processing

We process personal data for purposes including:

  • Operating and maintaining the Website;

  • Displaying our photography portfolio;

  • Responding to enquiries;

  • Communicating with visitors and potential clients;

  • Providing information about our photography services;

  • Maintaining the security and functionality of the Website;

  • Detecting and preventing misuse, fraud or security incidents;

  • Improving the Website where appropriate;

  • Complying with legal obligations; and

  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

We aim to process only the personal data that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

4. Legal basis and justification

Under Swiss data protection law, personal data processing does not generally require consent in every situation.

We process personal data in accordance with the principles and requirements of the FADP.

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be justified because it:

  • Is necessary to provide or operate the Website or respond to a request;

  • Is necessary to comply with a legal obligation;

  • Is necessary to protect our legitimate interests, where permitted by law;

  • Is based on your consent where consent is required or appropriate; or

  • Is otherwise permitted under Swiss data protection law.

Where consent is used, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Some technologies are necessary for the Website to function. Others may be used for optional purposes, such as analytics or other non-essential functionality.

Our current Squarespace configuration provides a cookie banner through which visitors can manage their choices.

Non-essential cookies are restricted until the visitor accepts them.

Visitors can therefore decline optional cookies without preventing access to the core photography portfolio.

We have also disabled the Squarespace Activity Log.

Further information is provided in our separate Cookie Policy.

6. Squarespace

The Website is hosted and operated using Squarespace.

Squarespace may process technical and other information necessary to provide hosting, security, website functionality and other services.

Where Squarespace processes personal data on our behalf, it acts as a service provider/processor for the relevant processing.

7. Third-party services

The Website may contain links to or integrations with third-party services.

Examples may include social media platforms, video services, analytics services, embedded content or other external services.

Where such services process personal data, the relevant third party may act as an independent controller or processor depending on the circumstances.

We will only describe services that are actually used on the Website in the applicable version of this Privacy Policy.

Third-party providers may process data outside Switzerland. Where personal data is transferred abroad, the requirements of Swiss data protection law concerning international disclosures apply.

8. Disclosure and recipients of personal data

Personal data may be disclosed to service providers where this is necessary for operating the Website or providing services to you.

Depending on the Website's configuration, recipients may include:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers;

  • Website and technical service providers;

  • Email and communication providers;

  • Analytics or similar service providers, where enabled and permitted;

  • Professional advisers where necessary; and

  • Government authorities or other recipients where required by law.

We do not sell personal data as a general business practice.

9. Data processed outside Switzerland

Some service providers used to operate the Website may process or store personal data outside Switzerland.

Where personal data is disclosed abroad, we comply with the applicable requirements of Swiss data protection law concerning transfers to other countries.

10. How long we retain personal data

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required or permitted by applicable law.

For example, correspondence relating to an enquiry may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry and any resulting relationship.

We may retain information for longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

11. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, destruction or other unlawful processing.

However, no transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Activity Log

The Squarespace Activity Log is disabled on the Website.

We therefore do not use the Squarespace Activity Log as an active feature for maintaining individual visitor activity records.

This does not mean that no technical information can ever be processed by Squarespace or other infrastructure providers. Information necessary for hosting, security and technical operation may still be processed.

13. Your rights under Swiss data protection law

Subject to the applicable legal requirements and exceptions, you may have rights including:

  • The right to request information about whether we process personal data concerning you;

  • The right to receive information about the personal data processed;

  • The right to request correction of inaccurate personal data;

  • The right to request deletion of personal data in appropriate circumstances;

  • The right to request restriction of certain processing;

  • The right to object to certain processing;

  • The right to request data portability where the legal requirements are met; and

  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise a right, please contact:

hagagraphy@gmail.com

We may need to verify your identity before responding to certain requests.

You also have the right to contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) if you believe that your data protection rights have been infringed.

14. Contact and enquiries

If you contact HagaGraphy, we will process the information you provide for the purpose of handling and responding to your enquiry.

Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry.

15. Children's data

The Website is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children where doing so would breach applicable law.

16. Future online shop

HagaGraphy may introduce an online shop in the future.

The online shop is not currently operational.

Accordingly, this Privacy Policy does not currently cover processing specifically associated with:

  • Customer accounts;

  • Orders;

  • Payment processing;

  • Delivery and shipping;

  • Returns;

  • Shopping baskets; or

  • Other e-commerce functions.

Before an online shop is launched, this Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated to reflect the personal data processing associated with the shop and its payment, delivery and other service providers.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our Website, services, data-processing practices or applicable legal requirements change.
